Terms of Service

Coriva is an app that connects commercial kitchens (“kitchens”) with independent catering equipment engineers (“engineers”). Kitchens post a fault. Engineers nearby offer a time. The kitchen chooses an engineer, and the app helps both sides with chat, scheduling, job sheets, invoices and reviews.

We provide the app. We do not do repair work, employ engineers, act as anyone's agent, or insure any work.

Any agreement for repair or maintenance work is only between the kitchen and the engineer. We are not a party to it. We are not responsible for the work, the price, whether the engineer turns up, the quality of the work, safety on site, or the result.

• Payment: kitchens pay engineers directly, in the way they agree. Coriva does not take, hold or send payments for repair work, and takes no commission. An invoice in Coriva is a record the engineer makes; the engineer marks it as paid.
• Disputes about work, price, attendance or payment are between the kitchen and the engineer. We may look at reports of misuse of Coriva, but we do not have to settle disputes.
• Profiles: engineers enter their own details, such as Gas Safe and F-Gas details and insurance. We do not check them unless the app says a detail has been checked. The only check we do today is of an engineer's photo ID, when the engineer asks for it. Before any gas work, kitchens should check the engineer on the Gas Safe Register.

• You must be 18 or over.
• Coriva is for business use. You use it for your trade or business, not as a consumer. If you use it for a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for that business.
• Coriva is for kitchens and engineers in the United Kingdom.
• You must not use Coriva if we have closed your account before.

• Give true, current details, and keep them up to date.
• Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
• Do not share your account, or use someone else's.
• A kitchen account must represent a real hospitality business. An engineer account must represent a real engineer or engineering business.

If you use Coriva as a kitchen, you agree to:

• describe the equipment and the fault honestly, with photos of the real problem
• only post work at premises where you are allowed to arrange it
• give the engineer you confirm safe access, and the access details they need
• pay engineers as you agree with them
• close or update a job quickly if you no longer need it

Coriva is free for kitchens. We do not charge kitchens a fee per job or take commission. If that ever changes, we will tell you in advance, and you will not pay anything you have not agreed to.

If you use Coriva as an engineer, you agree that:

• you hold, and keep up to date, every registration, qualification and certificate the law needs for the work you take on. For example: Gas Safe registration for gas work, and F-Gas certification for work on refrigerant systems
• you hold suitable insurance for your work, including public liability insurance, and professional indemnity insurance where it applies
• you work to a competent, professional standard and follow the law, including health and safety law
• you are responsible for your own tax, VAT and national insurance
• the details on your profile, job sheets and invoices are true
• you turn up when you have agreed to, or tell the kitchen quickly if you cannot
• you bring your own tools, parts and transport

Engineers are independent businesses. They are not our employees, workers, partners or agents.

• Free period: each new engineer account gets 3 months free from the day it is created. You do not need to give payment details for this. One free period per engineer.
• After the free period, you need a membership to offer times on jobs and answer direct requests from kitchens. Without one you keep your profile and history and can still see jobs.
• Prices: £29.99 a month or £299.99 a year, as shown in the app before you buy.
• Buying: memberships are sold through the Apple App Store (and Google Play when Coriva is on Android). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
• Automatic renewal: your membership renews automatically at the end of each month or year unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancelling: manage or cancel your membership in your Apple ID settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions). If you cancel, you keep membership until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your Coriva account does not cancel your membership.
• Refunds are handled by Apple (or Google) under their rules. We cannot give refunds for purchases made through them.
• Price changes: if we change the price, Apple (or Google) will tell you before it applies, and where their rules need it, ask you to agree.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable or abusive content and for abusive users. You must not post, send or upload anything that is:

• abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful or discriminatory
• sexual, violent or otherwise offensive
• false or misleading, including fake jobs, fake reviews, fake qualifications or fake insurance
• a scam, spam, or an attempt to take payment for work you will not do
• unsafe work advice, or advice to break the law
• someone else's personal data without a good reason, or content you do not have the right to share
• illegal

You also must not:

• pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your business
• try to get round blocks, safety features, the membership or identity checks
• copy, scrape, reverse engineer or overload Coriva
• use contact details you see in Coriva for anything other than the job, such as marketing

• You can report or block any user from the menu on a chat, a job page or a profile. You can unblock people in More, Settings, Blocked people.
• We review every report within 24 hours.
• If content breaks these Terms, we remove it. If a user breaks these Terms, we may warn them, limit what they can do, or close their account. For serious or repeated breaches, we close the account.
• If we think someone is at risk, or a crime has happened, we may tell the police or other authorities.
• To report something outside the app, email info@coriva.co.uk.

Reviews must be honest and based on a real job done through Coriva. Do not offer or accept anything in return for a review, and do not review your own business. We may remove reviews that break these Terms.

You own what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, show and share it as needed to run Coriva, for example to show your job photos to engineers or your reviews on your profile. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups for a short time, and reports we keep for safety.

You confirm you have the right to post everything you post.

Coriva gives engineers tools to make job sheets and invoices. The engineer is responsible for what they say, including prices and VAT. A signed job sheet is a record between the kitchen and the engineer. Keep your own copies of job sheets and invoices you need for tax or other records: if either user deletes their account, the job sheets and invoices between them are deleted from Coriva.

Axel is a troubleshooting helper for engineers. It uses artificial intelligence (provided by OpenAI) to suggest checks for a fault. Its answers can be wrong or incomplete. Axel is not a competent person and does not replace Gas Safe registration, live electrical competence, manufacturer instructions or your own judgement. You are responsible for any work you do. Do not type personal details about anyone into Axel.

• You can delete your account at any time in the app: More, Settings, Delete account. See delete your account.
• We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, or to protect other users. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why.
• We may change or stop parts of Coriva. If we stop Coriva altogether, we will give you reasonable notice.

We work to keep Coriva available and working, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We do not promise any number of jobs, engineers, replies or earnings.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for: work done or not done by engineers; anything agreed between kitchens and engineers; loss of profit, business, revenue or data; or any loss that was not foreseeable.

As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for anything to do with Coriva is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid for Coriva membership in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.

If you got the app from the Apple App Store, these extra terms apply:

• These Terms are between you and Slamships Ltd, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• You may use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for the app. Contact us instead.
• If the app does not meet any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for the app, if any. Apple has no other warranty duty for the app, as far as the law allows.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it does not meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
• If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with it.
• You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile network's.
• Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Coriva, its name, logo, design and content belong to Slamships Ltd or the people who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for its purpose while these Terms apply. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.

We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top, and if a change is important we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Coriva after that, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

• If a court decides part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
• If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
• You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a business that takes over Coriva.
• Except for Apple (section 16), nobody else has rights under these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
• These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
